Today's theme for the local moms' club storytime at the community center was pirates and princesses. AJ put on his own makeup and we handmade the hat. Lia got to improvise being a princess since we didn't exactly have a princess dress - so she wore a ballerina outfit with wings instead.

Sesame Place
We decided to go for it and take a mini-vacation this past weekend -- to the amusement park designed for kids under the age of 6 -- Sesame Place. We had last gone about 2 years ago and it made such an impression that AJ has been talking about it ever since. It is near Philadelphia and is about a 3+ hour car ride so we stayed overnight one night near the park. We all had a great time, and it was a perfect getaway with 3 little ones. AJ & Lia enjoyed the amusement park and especially the musical shows and parade with the characters from Sesame Street. They also really enjoyed staying at a hotel (they thought it was so funny to sleep in the same room and had a great time at the hotel swimming pool). AJ went on his first rollercoaster ride. It's already on the list of things to do next summer too, and probably the next summer and the next summer...
