New House Photos

As you know, we bought a foreclosure needing remodeling work to get it to "move-in ready" condition. It needed a complete cosmetic overhaul of painting, needed all new appliances, some light fixture replacements, minor electrical & plumbing repairs, and then renovation work to create a main level living suite with full bath for Andrew's parents. Here are some before & after photos.

AFTER (can't see in this pic, but the left side of staircase wall was closed off/extended, the rail was removed, and a door was added - that room became Andrew's parent's bedroom):

Newly added full bathroom (Andrew's parent's bathroom), which is accessed via the sitting area in between their bedroom and living room (it is the white door slightly visible on the left of the picture of their bedroom). This used to be a walk-in pantry area and hall closet space accessible via the kitchen and foyer. We knocked out a pantry wall and then closed up pantry and hall closet door openings and added the new door for the bathroom. We gave up a hall closet (so, we'll use coat racks and maybe get a standing wardrobe closet down the line). We were able to convert a credenza nook elsewhere in the kitchen into a sizable pantry. Among many other things, the layout was a main feature that sold us on the house - it is perfect for turning a couple of rooms into a 2-room main floor living suite for Andrew's parents and adding in the bathroom.
