We made a trip to Disney World this year since we got a great deal on flights using travel funds that were close to expiring. Another family, the Smiths, went too. They have 2 kids - Matt, who is 10, and Brianna, who is 4.
We stayed at a hotel in the Marriott Village, a trio of Marriott hotels, a short distance from Disney. Shared amenities in the Village included a food court, an arcade, and a heated indoor/outdoor pool (which the kids enjoyed). There were also several restaurants within walking distance (including a Golden Corral), and the hotel had a free shuttle to Disney. As an unexpected bonus, we could see the Disney fireworks show in the distance every night from our hotel balcony.
The trip was so much fun! These few posts only capture a small glimpse of the fantastic vacation!
