While AJ has made the time cuts to qualify for Zone meets in the past, this was his first time going. He traveled with a regional "all-stars" team from the DC area to compete at the Eastern Zone championship meet in Richmond, VA. He received cool gear (team warm-up jacket, shirts and caps), rode on team buses, and swam at a modular pool that was used for the 2008 Olympic Trials. He really enjoyed it!
